Can you wipe an ibook g4 without having an install disc or a way to get into the computer?

I just got a hand me down ibook, no on knows the password, and i just need to wipe it asap. I don't have any way to get os x discs, so thats not even a option at all. Any suggestions?

Thanks ya'll

I hate asking questions of someone asking a question, but… Are you talking about a BIOS password (one that is asked before the computer even begins to boot), or the OS password (video is up and running, and the OS has loaded, but needs a password to continue)?
If it's a BIOS password you might be able to get rid of it if it'll boot into a cd that has a BIOS password removal tool. If it's the OS password, you're most likely totally out of luck unless you can delete the OSX partition(s) and use an install disk to reload.
Wish I could be of more help, but BIOS passwords are evil to try and crack without a program that'll do it for you. I'm totally unaware of any programs that'll remove/change the user password in OSX.

    you can't really do anything. you might be able to download some 3rd party software but i don't really know if anything even exists that can do that..

    Yeah… if you just want to "wipe" it you can take the hard drive out, connect it to another machine and format it. but that wont get you a working OS X partition. in order to do that you need to have the install discs.

    Here’s how to reset your OS X password without an OS X CD. You need to enter terminal and create a new admin account:

    1. Reboot
    2. Hold apple + s down after you hear the chime.
    3. When you get text prompt enter in these terminal commands to create a brand new admin account (write these) :
    * mount -uw /
    * rm /var/db/.AppleSetupDone
    * shutdown -h now
    4. After rebooting you should have a brand new admin account. When you login as the new admin you can simply delete the old one and you’re good to go again!
