    No. The only thing …
No. The only thing that can really hurt a processor is heat, but the SMC fan software that’s built into every Mac will automatically power up the cooling fans before the processor would overheat. That’s why my laptop was so loud when I was making this video.

I have a question on one of your methods for running down the battery. I’m going to be purchasing a MacBook in the near future, and if I did that to the two processor cores, would that hurt the processor any?

    Thanks

There aren’t really good free ones on the Mac. I think that the best value for money right now comes from Shiny White Box’s iShowU. I highly recommend it!

Well the easiest thing to drain your battery apart from the things you mentioned would be to make it play chess computer Vs. computer… (apple actually suggested it when I got my replacement battery…)

    Cheers

    Or, you know, you …
Or, you know, you could just watch a movie or play a game. Really, it’ll take a little longer, but you don’t have to do a ridiculous amount of crap to get to it. If you want to do it fast, do this method. If you have some time to spare, then just watch a movie or something.

Thanks for the tip, but I don’t think it’s that good either for the computer or the battery since this is not normal use of the laptop. besides, this monthly calibrating stuff is crap : it’s just used to make you buy another battery :p. Doing it once or twice in the laptop’s lifetime is enough.
