Yeah but the chances of actually damaging equipment with static electricity is so slim. First with a MacBook like this, she wasn’t touching any of the electronics inside the MB. She was simply inserting the RAM sticks into the slots. Similar to the way you would insert a CD into the CD-ROM slot. Just avoid rubbing your stocking feet on carpeting before doing it, and everything should be fine.

Yeah thats a good upgrade. Your MacBook’s chipset should be able to utilize about 3.3 gigs of memory. So you’ll be using most of the 4 gig. Also with the matched pairs, you’ll be running dual channel for additional for additional speed. It will be noticeable faster.

btw you didn’t actually ground yourself and you could of still caused damage to your mac book as the scissors you touched were not attached to earth so the electricity didn’t go anywhere.
the best way to do it is touch a cold water pipe as they have a wire on them that takes any charge out of your body straight to earth.
